O.A.R. OFFERS NEW DIGITAL SINGLE RELEASE “HEAVEN” ON JUNE 7TH; NEW ALBUM KING IN STORES AUGUST 2ND

For Immediate Release

O.A.R. OFFERS NEW DIGITAL SINGLE RELEASE “HEAVEN” ON JUNE 7TH; NEW ALBUM KING IN STORES AUGUST 2ND

June 6, 2011 – Platinum selling group O.A.R. will release their new single, “Heaven,” to digital retailers, including iTunes (http://bit.ly/j4gwLq), on June 7th.  The single, from the band’s much anticipated seventh studio album, King, features background vocals by a group of seasoned musicians from NYC that came together to provide the choir for the track. King is set to be released on Wind-up Records August 2nd and is O.A.R.’s first new studio recording since their wildly successful 2008 release All Sides, which includes the Platinum hit single “Shattered.”

“This was the last song we wrote for the record. It ended up becoming the centerpiece of the album and tied everything together,” said Marc Roberge. “We spend too much time worrying about things we ultimately can’t control rather than just enjoying the here and now. ‘Heaven’ is about being who you are and owning it – building your own world and letting everything else fall into place.  This song holds a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to get it out to the fans.”

O.A.R. will kick off a 22-city Summer amphitheater tour in support of the new album on July 6th in Milwaukee that will include stops at PNC Bank Arts Center, Bank of America Pavilion, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Merriweather Post Pavilion through mid-August. O.A.R. will also join the Dave Matthews Band Caravan at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ on June 25th as well as at Lakeside in Chicago, IL on July 8th and at South Island Field at Governors Island on August 26th.  O.A.R. has also teamed up with the IAVA to donate tickets to shows on the upcoming tour to new veterans.  Veterans can get more information or sign up now at, www.ofarevolution.com/usmatg.  Deadline for entry is Monday, July 4th.
